Past and Previous

In 2022, the Good Relatives Collaborative was formed in response to the Bush Foundation’s need for an intermediary to specifically meet the needs of the Native Nations in the region. The Collaborative made a commitment to not only provide funding for this growing sector, but to assist in identifying (and meeting, if possible) needs for support, development, and connection. We are centered on our Indigenous values of being a good relative by moving past a scarcity and competitive mentality to one of cooperation, sharing, and healing.

We are so happy to have been able to fund these Native-led organizations over the years and, more importantly, to have been able to connect them through our annual Good Relatives Collaborative grantee convenings. These annual events provide a safe space for organizations to not only share their needs and challenges but also share their successes and strengths and learn from each other. As unique organizations addressing diverse challenges, they have often found common ground in their community-centered, culturally based, and healing work.

We hope to continually add to this list of Native-led nonprofits in the region. If you know of any organizations not on this list of previous grantees that should apply, please share this information with them.

Please take some time to learn about them and their amazing work:
