About Bush Prize: Native Nations
Bush Prize: Native Nations is an annual honoring that celebrates Native-led organizations across the region who have a track record of successful community problem-solving. Bush Prize: Native Nations honorees support a culture of innovation, are highly-valued in community, and have a history of building creative, community-powered solutions for challenges in Native communities.
In 2025, three organizations from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and the Native Nations that share that geography will be selected as Bush Prize: Native Nations honorees.
This program in partnership with 4 community grant partners. Bush Prize: Minnesota is operated by Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, Bush Prize: Native Nations is operated by the Good Relatives Collaborative, Bush Prize: North Dakota is operated by Strengthen ND, and Bush Prize: South Dakota by the South Dakota Community Foundation.
Each one operates the Bush Prize using similar criteria and has the flexibility to ensure that the program is guided by community members with equity at the center. The grant partners (with the Bush Foundation in an advisory role) select and announce the Bush Prize winners, as well as provide any support along the way.
